This book is a gem!I had a hard time putting it down.The writer gives us insight into a little boy's life from his early years to manhood.
I cried and laughed at the writer's gift presenting sadness intertwined with humor.The book is written through the eyes of a child growing up.It is heartbreaking to see Michael longing for his father's love.Many readers I am sure can identify or have family or friends who grew up in a similar situation. I can see why the book is titled My Name Isn't Rufus because Michael rejects being given a loving nickname by a non-loving Dad. Easy and great reading. I highly recommend it.
